Amberley Airforce Base Test Cell No. 2
Project Description
This project facilitated the construction of a new F-111 Jet Engine Test Cell to test jet engines at full after burner thrust prior to return to service after maintenance. The facility included a 30kL Jet Fuel storage tank and constant pressure fuel delivery system to meet stringent performance criteria to supply adequate fuel to the engine at any speed from idle to full after burner.
The project was completed on time and on budget and was notable for achieving all performance criteria under all operating conditions.
Timing
Construction was completed in July 2002.
TfA Contribution
TfA performed detailed design including hydraulic analysis, HAZOP leadership, on site construction inspections during construction activities, commissioning, operational procedures and maintenance manuals.
