Abel Point Marina Whitsunday
Project Description
This project includes the complete upgrade of the marina fuel facility from 200 lpm to 660 lpm for diesel and from 40 to 120 lpm for ULP. The expansion included removing the existing fuel pontoon and replacing it with two longer fingers. A high flow diesel dispenser to deliver 300 lpm was installed on the northern pontoon to facilitate refuelling the bigger boats using the marina. An initial audit was carried out of the existing site which resulted in TfA redesigning the electrical reticulation.
Timing
Construction was completed in May 2007.
TfA Contribution
TfA carried out an audit of the existing system, detailed design, tender documents, tender evaluation, contract documentation and carried out construction site supervision. This included hydraulic analysis, HAZOP leadership and on site construction inspections during construction activities, commissioning, operational procedures and maintenance manuals.
