Project Description
The Alcoa McCoy workshops are a brand new facility located closer to the open cut mine face including an eight bay Heavy Vehicle Workshop with integrated stores and administration offices, six bay Light Vehicle Workshop, two bay Heavy Vehicle Refuelling Facility and Light Vehicle Refuelling Facility.
The Heavy Vehicle Workshops include a lubricant tank farm comprising seven grades of lubricant plus coolant and waste oil reticulated to five hose stations throughout the workshop. The Light Vehicle Workshop has seven grades of lubricant stored in 1,000 L bins reticulated to two hose stations. The number of hose reels combining grease, compressed air and water for the project totals 101 hose reels.
The two bay Heavy Vehicle refuelling facility is serviced by five 110 kL Diesel storage and the Light Vehicle refuelling bay has a dedicated 20kL Diesel tank.
Timing
Construction completed during 2004 with commissioning completed in February 2005.

Total project value is approximately $20 million.
TfA Contribution
TfA provided mechanical and electrical detailed design of the fuel and lubricant tank farms and reticulation of fuel, radiator coolant and lubricants throughout the Light Vehicle and Heavy Vehicle Workshops and the Heavy Vehicle and Light Vehicle Refuelling Bays. TfA also provided construction site inspections and commissioning.
