TfA Project Group are experts in the petrochemical industry. We have designed and commissioned numerous projects across Australia for major international oil companies, varying from terminals and dock line unloading, to process plants, regional depots and service stations. As part of our services, we can provide conceptual development of your project, detailed design as well as project and construction management.

  • NEW! TfA have just completed a new service station in Kirkwood, near Gladstone QLD.
  • NEW! TfA conducted the detailed design and project management of a Woolworths Caltex service station, servicing Gympie (QLD) and its surrounding suburbs. This project was challenging as an abandoned mine shaft was directly beneath the site. Other challenges included limited access due to the highway, solid rock that was jack hammered and excavated and the demolition of two old houses containing asbestos.
  • Maintenance & Tank-Around Services: Providing design services for maintenance and tank turn-around contracts is one of TfA’s specialties. Be it for diesel, bitumen, lubricants or other petrochemical product tanks or plants, you can rest assured TfA will provide you with practical and effective results to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • A new Woolworths Caltex service station has just been opened. The facility will service Brisbane's inner city and is another addition to TfA's list of successes.
  • TfA Project Group continues to exceed industry expectations. A new refuelling facility in one of Australia's busiest cities, Sydney. This facility will service diesel to the public as well as private users around the Sydney Harbour area.
  • TfA Project Group was responsible for overseeing the upgrade of a fuel terminal which included a new loading up for fuel delivery via ships. An international supplied marine loading arm was successfully installed in Brisbane early 2011.
  • TfA has designed many process piping systems, ranging from fuels, lubricants & oils, to fuel additives including urea (AdBlue). With TfA's experienced team, you can rest assured that your project will get the committment it deserves.
  • Marina Refuelling Systems: TfA have been involved in marina refuelling facilities for many years, conducting inspections, audits as well as completing full design briefs for our clients.
  • Underground Storage Tanks: Showing here is the installation of underground storage tank for a refuelling station at one of Australia's most beautiful and prominent harbours. This project included 5 new fuel storage tanks, new dispensing and pumping system complete with new control office, security systems and facilities for customers.
  • Service Stations: TfA has offered unsurpassed expertise in the project management and detailed design of over 100 service stations throughout Australia and the Pacific. Currently, TfA Project Group handles the design and development of the Woolworths service station network throughout Queensland and northern New South Wales.
  • Two 27ML Diesel Storage Tanks: Having successfully completed the first storage tank, TfA was contracted to complete a second, identical tank the following year. Again, TfA's involvement included detailed design, construction management and commissioning. With a high demand of fuel in the surrounding area, TfA's main priority was assisting our client maintain operational capabilities while leading a incident-free construction.
  • 5km Underground Pipeline: Horizontal Direct Drilling (HDD) of a section of a 5km pipeline along Brisbane's riverside is being inserted into position in a bore hole. TfA's involvement includes detail design, project management and quality control.
  • TfA Project Group designs quality and safe refuelling systems for the mining industry, taking into consideration the client's requirements, mine's location and operator accessibility.
  • Lubes & Oils Field Services: Field refueling services for mining and aviation applications are one of TfA's specialties. These systems involve lubricants, oils and fuels dispensing combinations, designed to meet client requirements and equipment demand.
  • Lubricants & Oils Storage & Dispensing Systems: In previous projects TfA has successfully designed and commissioned lubricants and oils systems for large industrial sites. The systems have involved a number of fluids, dispensing bays and locations.
  • Underground Fuel Tank Installation: TfA's expertise in the fuel industry is unique. Most service stations nowadays are fitted with underground fibreglass tanks. TfA are experts at completing concept and detail design, construction management and commissioning of service stations nationwide.
  • Diesel Storage Tank Under Construction: Once civil and tank foundation works have been completed, tank erection commences. This photo illustrates the installation of the final tank roof plates.
  • Diesel Storage Tank Under Construction: Preparations commence for the construciton of a second storage tank, with the erection of the tank ring beam underway. Successful construction management by TfA allowed the civil works to be completed within schedule, prompting on-time tank erection.
  • Diesel Storage Tank Under Construction: TfA conducted the design, construction supervision and commissioning of a 27ML diesel storage tank. The project also included the upgrade of terminal equipment including pumps, pipeline reticulation and control systems. This photo depicts the new 27ML tank prior to painting.
  • Installation of 250m Length of Underground Pipeline: TfA are the detailed designers and project managers for this new petroleum product discharge line. Engagement included negotiation with 12 planning authorities, civil, electrical and mechanical design of wharf fire systems, pig launching and receiving and terminal manifold upgrades. TfA's construction management and contract administration expertise has been heavily drawn on to ensure the longevity of the investment and to minimise the risk of latent conditions. Installation of 250m length of undergound pipeline: Excavation, installation and backfilling of this length was performed in a single day. Project total horizontal directional drilled and trenched pipeline length: 4780m.
  • Bitumen Import Storage Tank Under Construction: The construction a new 10ML bitumen storage tank and its integration into the existing bitumen plant includes new heat exchangers, pumps, wharf lines, electrics, heat tracing and piping modifications. TfA managed the entire delivery of the project, including detailed design, construction management, site supervision and commissioning.
  • PumpSmart Terminal Loadout Control: During detailed design, hydraulic analysis performed by TfA highlighted risk of cavitation to load out pumps. Utilising proprietary pump control technology, TfA provided a cost effective and less disruptive alternative to replacing product suction lines. TfA designed the instrumentation and control packages, then project managed the tendering, construction and commissioning of the integrated system. This is the first installation of its kind in Australia. Down time to the terminal? Two half day shutdowns. Energy savings? Up to 70%. Overspeed and cavitation protection? Yes. We made it happen.
