TFA Project Group are fuel industry specialists with project management, design, town planning and engineering capabilities, providing a “one stop shop” to its clients.
All facets of project delivery are handled in-house by our own professional staff of engineers, town planners, designers and project managers.
Our History
Tam Faragher & Associates Pty Ltd was founded in 1995 in Brisbane, Queensland, with 2 personnel, starting out with engineering, project management and design drafting capabilities.
As part of our initial projects, TfA was engaged by Shell to document standards for all Shell service station and car wash buildings for use throughout Australia. Since then, TfA has commissioned over 1000 service stations nationwide, with major international, national and independent companies.
TfA has grown to provide a complete service for the downstream oil industry. TfA has completed truck stops, fast food restaurants and service centres for many Australian vendors and developers. Our experience with fuel systems has seen TfA successfully upgrade or install new refueling systems for commercial airports and marinas, each service of the Australian Defence Forces and both national and international mining sites.
We have also established ourselves as market experts in delivering bulk petrochemical facility projects in Australia. We have provided services to each of the major oil companies and independents to upgrade or redevelop fuel depots and terminals, bitumen import and process facilities and lubricant blending plants.
We continue to provide design and project management services for the Queensland Government public housing sector and have designed and managed the construction of schools nationally.
In 2001, TfA became involved in Dalby Bio-Refinery’s inception, facilitating approvals and Front End Engineering Design to enable successful financing of the development.
TfA was awarded the Queensland Woolworths Petrol Program where we engaged in the design, commissioning and project management of their network development in Queensland and northern New South Wales.
In 2015 TfA was appointed as Caltex Australia Tier 1 consultant for its retail program.
A new phase for TFA began on 1 July 2016 when TFA Group Pty Ltd took over the business of Tam Faragher & Associates Pty Ltd. The new Board of Directors, steered by the Managing Director Tam Faragher, will ensure that TFA will continue to provide services for its valued clients into the future.

- designed and/or project managed the construction of over 1,000 service stations throughout Australia and the Pacific region
- provided engineering and design services for new and upgrades of bulk fuels terminals and depots
- undertook design, engineering and project management for the construction of new 4.6km fuel pipeline from Pinkenba to Port of Brisbane
- completed design of the White Island refuelling facility located in Sydney Harbour
- assisted with feasibility, approvals, concept design and the complete detailed design for the Dalby Bio-Refinery
- completed concept and detailed design for a number of private colleges in Victoria and NSW
