John Rowell is a qualified town planner with over 20 years’ experience and has been at TFA Project Group for over 10 years, working predominantly on projects of a commercial / industrial nature and specialising in the biofuels industry and downstream oil industry. John is one of the Directors of TFA and currently fulfils the role of General Manager.
During his time at TfA, John has worked on numerous large scale infrastructure projects (including major hazard facilities) and many national roll-out development programs for energy industry clients. John has been instrumental in the front-end design and approvals management for a number of national and international clients at the forefront of the energy transition.
John has applied his planning experience in various international and national settings including managing the planning appeals unit at the London Borough of Hackney council (United Kingdom) for over two years. Currently he liaises with numerous local and State government authorities all over Australia for national and international clients on major development applications and infrastructure projects.
John is a long-term member and accredited Registered Planner with the Planning Institute of Australia and maintains an active presence in a number of organisations within the development industry. He is also committed to education within the planning profession and has previously assisted the University of Queensland, giving guest lectures and assisting lecturers in general course work.
