Tam Faragher a Mechanical Engineer, RPEQ, founded TFA Project Group (TFA) in 1995 as a consultant group to the downstream oil industry. Tam had 13 years of oil industry experience gained with Shell Company in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth in various project and senior management roles. Significant projects included site project manager for delivery of a new continuous process bitumen plant at Pinkenba, design and construction to upgrade the bulk fuels loading gantry at Shells Parramatta terminal which incorporated the newest international technology of data capture and controls, and significant new and upgrade service station program across NSW. A stint in Perth and then back to Sydney as Shell State Engineering Manager developed man management skills which carries through the TFA team culture. A short period in a start-up commercial furniture factory developed practical commercial skills which are essential for small business success.
TFA was created to provide a service to downstream oil industry and enabled the delivery of projects through a ’one stop’ consultancy. Having significant insight to the challenges of project deliveries for major oil companies and the nimble attributes of a small business gave TFA a powerful proposition – “we make it happen”.
TFA has evolved from a small team of professional planners, designers and engineers to a national consultancy with over 25 years of experience. A team with both detailed technical capability from the education sector and extensive work experience within industry. A group that not only listens but hears, understands, plans, designs and delivers. It’s a competitive world and always looking to recruit and develop the A team, TFA has consistently helped deliver projects better than most other organisations. Not too large to just have big numbers of employees of varying skills and overheads, not too small to be challenged for delivery and stability, TFA provides a unique consultancy group.
Tam having effectively retired remains Chairman of the board and participates in ongoing mentoring and involvement in challenging projects where needed.
