HIF E-FUELS, TASMANIA

HIF Tasmania will be the first commercial scale eFuels facility to be built in Australia, located within the area of Burnie, Tasmania. The facility will use renewable energy from the local grid to power electrolyzers to produce green hydrogen. CO2 captured from local biomass will be combined with hydrogen via synthesis to produce carbon neutral eFuels which can be used in existing storage and refuelling infrastructure.

The facility will produce approximately 75ML per year of carbon-neutral eFuels. These fuels can be utilised as a true ‘’drop-in’’ sustainable fuel and an alternative to the current fossil fuels that power internal combustible engines.

TFA have been engaged by HIF Global to assist with the initial site layout master planning, pre-feasibility engineering and estimating and project approvals investigations.

TFA are proud to be part of many ground breaking renewable fuel projects including this milestone eFuels facility within Australia.
